WORLD Dance Day will on Thursday April 29 be celebrated in Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton with performances in both towns.
At 10.30am dancers will perform on the beach, near Steamer Steps in Budleigh Salterton, and visitors are invited to watch from the cliff-top benches.
Later, at 2pm, there will be a performance on the beach near the Octagon, in Exmouth, which can be seen from the promenade railings.
East Devon dancer Michelle Wilkinson said: "I am taking part in World Dance Day 2010 as it brings my community yoga dance groups out of the studio and onto the local beaches.
"Here the group participants can express their physical shouts through a standing movement meditation.
"Their movements will be echoed in the many other dances throughout Devon, the UK and the world.
"There will be a wonderful sense of unity as we all celebrate the magic and joy of dance."
The project has been jointly funded by the North Devon Coast AONB and Devon County Council.
