The appeal coincides with Oxfam's national book volunteering drive, March 8-22.
Rachel May, manager of the Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton shops, said "As Oxfam's book business grows, so does our need for volunteers.
"In the two shops it is thanks to our current team of eight committed volunteers that our book sales raise so much money for Oxfam's lifesaving work.
"We are really keen to attract new volunteers to join our fantastic team.
