I was at the current Exmouth Art Exhibition and would like to make the following point.
The paintings and sculptures were of a high professional or semi-professional nature; they did not seem to reflect the average, amateur artist's aspirations or ability.
They were of a standard far above what one would expect from a town's art group and would be off-putting to the local talent.
The exhibition was, in fact, too good.
