Exeter falls foul of knife crime as man is stabbed

FEARS have been raised that the wave of knife crime hitting the UK has arrived in Devon after a man in his early 20s was stabbed in Exeter on Thursday morning.

FEARS have been raised that the wave of knife crime hitting the UK has arrived in Devon after a man in his early 20s was stabbed in Exeter on Thursday morning.

Ambulance and police services were called to an address at Church Road, St Thomas, just before 11am, where they found a man covered with blood from a chest wound.

The police are making enquiries to locate and arrest the suspect.

The victim was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where his condition was not thought to be life threatening.

The police used brooms and buckets to remove a large bloodstain from the pavement.
