Exmouth traders and community groups have had their say on ways to improve business in the town.

Two workshops were hosted by the Government-backed Exmouth Coastal Community Team, encouraging participants to share their views on economic challenges, opportunities and aspirations.

Councillor Philip Skinner, chairman of the Exmouth Coastal Community Team and East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) portfolio holder for economy, said: “Exmouth is a fantastic place for living and leisure and we need to plan for its economic future.

“Surrounded by areas of high growth, particularly the city of Exeter, it’s readily acknowledged that Exmouth will benefit hugely from a focused and achievable economic vision.

“Both workshops were well attended, and provoked lively and positive discussions about how we can work together to achieve this.”

The coastal community team, facilitated by EDDC, is a sub group of the Exmouth Regeneration Programme Board. The team was formed in 2015, and has received support and funding from the Department for Communities and Local Government.
