Estate agency to donate money to Topsham charity

KIND-hearted estate agents have agreed to donate money to a Topsham charity for every home they sell.

Proving they are more than generous as the season of goodwill looms, staff from East of Exe have revealed every home sold that is registered with them will trigger a cash contribution to the Estuary League of Friends.

Under the deal, 10 per cent of the net commission fee paid to the agency by any house vendor referred by ELoF will go to the charity when the property sells.

East of Exe is an online estate agency which serves the same patch as the charity. It includes Topsham, Countess Wear, Clyst St Mary, Clyst St George, Ebford and Exton.

Rachel Gilpin, chief executive of the Estuary League of Friends, said: “This is a win-win deal. We are helping a new business, based in our area and serving the same Topsham and East Devon community as ourselves.

“In return we will get a share of the commission from successful sales, which will help us develop our services further.”

Ian Garcia, director of the East of Exe Estate Agency, said: “Following our successful launch at the beginning of 2010 we now want to give back something to the community, to an organisation that is all about helping local people.”

“This unique agreement allows us to visibly demonstrate to both our clients and the community why we are different, and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Estuary league of Friends.”
