Organisers of an annual charity golf day in Budleigh Salterton are urging people to take part to help pay for repairs to a school’s swimming pool.

The Budleigh Salterton Lions Club event, set to take place in the summer at East Devon Golf Club, in Links Road, on Thursday, August 25, will support St Peter’s School’s Warm Wish Appeal.

The school has raised more than £70,000 so far and work on its swimming pool has already got under way.

Last year’s event raised more than £4,000 for the FORCE cancer charity and it is hoped this year’s event can have a similar impact on the swimming pool appeal.

Entry to the 18-hole team event costs £160 per team and that includes a meal.

Entrants can take part in a £1,500 hole-in-one competition at the par three 10th hole and there will also be a raffle.

For more information and application forms, ring Graham Ruth on 01822 618181 or Geoff Paver on 01395 445298.
