I notice that there was an article in today’s Journal regarding the Strand’s cafés’ use of the pavement and saw that such use had to be licensed.
Perhaps the local authority might also turn their attention to the persistent occupation of the pavement by over large motor homes at Orcombe Point.
One recent example was taking up half of the available space that is shared quite happily by pedestrians and cyclists, forcing them to wait their turn to get past.
I can’t quite see how this bad mannered, inconsiderate and potentially dangerous situation is permitted or tolerated and I heard several people complaining as I walked past.
I have seen traffic wardens give tickets for similar obstruction in town – why aren’t the byelaws enforced here ?
