EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a flat fire at an Exmouth property.
Firefighters responded to a number of reports of a flat on fire in Fore Street at 11.05am last Friday, March 19.
Crews confirmed a small fire involving a cooker within the kitchen of a ground floor flat inside a two-storey building.
The kitchen was severely damaged with the remainder of the property damaged by smoke.
Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus wearers, one hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.
One male occupant was suffering from smoke inhalation but refused ambulance treatment.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
