THE work of a charity volunteer has been recognised by the Exeter Leukaemia Fund. Joan Barraclough was a founder member of the Exmouth supporters group of the charity, taking on the role of treasurer.
THE work of a charity volunteer has been recognised by the Exeter Leukaemia Fund.Joan Barraclough was a founder member of the Exmouth supporters group of the charity, taking on the role of treasurer.The group celebrated its tenth anniversary recently, and during that time it has raised �67,000.Megan Jones, chairman of the group and ELF trustee said: "I am delighted that Joan has become the latest recipient of the ELF Ambassador Award. For 10 years, she has willingly and cheerfully taken a leading part in fundraising events, both in the Exmouth area and further afield. "Joan is indeed an outstanding volunteer, whose dedicated contribution to ELF is greatly appreciated by the trustees."ELF raises money to support the Haematology Centre, at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital.
