Children at St Peter’s Primary School learned how to make pancakes.
The nursery children then tucked into their pancakes with lemon and sugar or syrup on them for their mid-morning snack to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
However, foundation teacher Lisa Broad said some of the children were disappointed with the tossing: “The children hoped that the pancakes would stick to the ceiling but, alas, all pancakes made it safely on to plates and were gobbled up whilst the children listened to the story of Lent.
“They had to choose what ingredients we needed for the pancakes from the recipe and made a mixture whilst singing a pancake song!”
