Donations of unwanted clothes are wanted to help raise funds for Withycombe Raleigh Primary School.

The collection is being organised by the school’s PTFA, which is looking for items including belts, hats and pairs of shoes, plus soft toys.

PTFA volunteer William Prendergast said: “Items of clothing, pairs of shoes, bags, belts and hats are needed, whatever their condition. The school raises cash for every item donated, so the more we raise, the more funds are available to spend on the pupils.”

The school would welcome donations from all on Monday, November 9, at the main reception, or on Tuesday, November 10, by 9am, at either the main reception entrance off Withycombe Village Road, or at the school bike shed at the School Lane entrance. For anyone wanting to contribute items, a collection can be arranged on Sunday, November 8, or Monday, November 9, by emailing williamprendergast@hotmail.com, or by calling 07761 399119.

Any bag can be used to donate items, which are then sent on to Eastern and Western Europe, Africa and Asia. However, the school cannot take towels, curtains, blankets, bedding, duvets or pillows.
