District planners say they have no problem with plans to build new classrooms at Lympstone Primary School.
East Devon District Council was consulted on the scheme by Devon County Council, and district planning officers raised no objection.
The plan would see the Church Room to the south of the school being demolished for use as a play area, with the existing play area being used for a new classroom block.
An existing pre-school unit will also be demolished, and one of the mobile classrooms on the playground will be removed, although two others will be retained.
County planners will now make the final decision.
