Children at St Peter’s Primary School in Budleigh Salterton bid a tearful farewell to head teacher Sally Roberts who has retired.
Pupils gathered for a ceremony in the playground and presented the popular Mrs Roberts with a bouquet of lilies and a voucher for her and her husband to enjoy a holiday in Cornwall.
Mrs Roberts was headteacher from September 2007 until the summer.
Acting head teacher Malcolm Elliot said: “She was greatly respected and a very much-liked head teacher.
“The children absolutely adored her and it is quite sad to see her go, having served the school so well for three years.”
