Some of Exmouth Community College’s American football players have swapped the sports pitch for the supermarket to help encourage people to donate groceries for those in need.
Three students from the college’s Exmouth Raptors programme went to the Tesco store in Salterton Road, wearing their full playing kit – pads, helmets and all – to encourage shoppers to make donations to the national Tesco and FareShare food bank project.
Their visit was part of a week of collections, during which Tesco amassed 295 boxes of donated food from customers.
