THE HEAT was on – quite literally - at Exmouth Community College as students took part in a cooking competition.
Key stage four youngsters had one hour to create a dish in a Heat of the Future chef contest that was marked on originality, taste and presentation.
Scott Paton, an award-winning pastry chef, was on hand to help judge alongside Joy Whipps, former Exmouth mayor.
The event was close with the top three students only points apart from one another.
The winner, Jack Roach, will now compete in the next round of the competition.
