Exmouth Community College has been named as a ‘champion school’ for helping its students receive life-enriching opportunities.
The college received the accolade for its work with the National Citizens Service (NCS), with whom it has worked closely through Community Action South West.
The NCS is a government initiative to support students aged from 16 to 18, providing opportunities through residential experiences and volunteering. At least 100 students from the college have taken part during the last two years.
College deputy principal, David Turner, said he was ‘delighted’ to receive the award, presented by Lyn Brown, Community Action South West’s director of young people and family services.
