SCHOOL children in Budleigh Salterton showed off their artistic talents in a competition to highlight local events to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

Year five and six pupils at St Peters School, Budleigh Salterton, were given the task of designing a poster, advertising all the community events and parties over the Royal Wedding weekend.

The winner was Toby Gilbody from year six who scooped the prize of family tickets to the disco and supper on Saturday April 30 in the Public Hall.

Organsier Kate Green said: “There were some fantastic entries and the judges had great trouble choosing a winner.

“The organisers would like to thank all the children that took part, and the teachers for their support. As many posters as possible will be used throughout the Town, so children are encouraged to try and spot theirs in shop windows.”
