Pupil behaviour, communication between staff and parents, plus care of youngsters attending Brixington Primary School was praised by visiting Ofsted inspectors.
Ofsted found Brixington Primary School was a ‘safe place’ to be, where pupils behaved even when teaching was ‘less than good’.
Better attendance thanks to positive relationships and communication between staff and parents was also praised during the inspection.
Bullying was ‘unusual’ the report said, because staff and governors ‘pay close attention to pupil care’, making the school a ‘safe place’.
The report went on to say: “Pupils are very positive about their learning and this makes an important contribution to their progress.”
The report praised pupils’ trust in teachers.
It also highlighted how parents, carers and pupils agreed that bullying at the school was ‘rare’.
The report said ‘safety has a high profile’ at Brixington Primary School, adding pupils ‘always feel safe at school’.
