A total of 72 St Peter’s School staff, pupil’s and their families and friends raised almost 350 at a 24-hour ‘bike-a-thon’.

The fundraiser was organised by the St Peter’s School Association and the target distance of 2012 kilometres, to represent London 2012, was smashed and the final distance achieved was 2425 kilometres. Kate Green said: “A huge thank you to all family, friends and staff who took part in and supported the bike-a-thon on Monday and Tuesday.

“An amazing 77 people took part in all, with many people taking two-hour slots and others coming back for several sessions in the 24 hours. What an inspirational effort which coincided so well with sports day and the Olympic theme running through the school.

“So far we have raised 348.41, but there is still more money to be received.”
