Children from Lympstone Primary School became tree huggers for an afternoon to raise money for a tribe in the Amazon rainforest.
The children, from all seven of the school’s classes, ran several sponsored laps of Candy’s Field, hugging the trees one by one.
The event raised more than 1,400, which will be used to help fund schooling for the Waorani tribe in South America.
Schoolteacher Jo Callan said: “The Lympstone children had great fun doing their laps in inventive ways.
This included three-legged laps, walking backwards and walking chains of 30 boys and 30 girls.”
