Pupils from Bassetts Farm Primary School found themselves in an English country garden as part of a day of tradition and fun
Bassetts Farm Primary School had a taste of tradition when the youngsters enjoyed an English country garden day.
Bug hunts, scarecrow making, pond dipping and games of cricket were just some of the activities pupils had been involved in as they embraced all things English.
On the day, the youngsters also teamed up with the National Trust, making lavender bags.
The youngsters heard traditional stories and enjoyed a visit from Pets at Home staff, who brought along animals that could be seen in the countryside, such as rabbits.
Headteacher Sarah Bennett said the country garden day had been to kick-start the term’s project, learning about England.
She said: “It was a wow moment to set off the children’s learning.
“They were really enthused by it.
“It makes you proud to be English.”
