Children from Drake’s and Otterton primary schools have teamed up for a musical outer-space adventure.
The schools’ year four and five children have been learning about space this term, and brought together what they have learned with a specially-themed musical, which was put together in a day.
Working with musician Peter Kyrke-Smith, more than 40 pupils from the two schools learned eight songs, telling the story of an astronaut who goes to space and falls in love with the beauty of the earth.
Having put this together with narration, the pupils then performed the show for their parents, who were invited in to watch.
Drake’s teacher Claire Joules said: “The kids absolutely loved it, and we got some good feedback from the parents at the end of the day.”
