I have noted numerous letters to your paper over the past few weeks regarding East Devon District Council's wisdom in challenging the Boundary Commission and, having lost, to then mount an expensive legal appeal. One can but reflect on the hypocrisy when comparing this against the complaint, also highlighted in your paper, in respect of EDDC's refusal to commit, in comparison, a relatively small sum to meet their own legal obligations.I refer to the lack of interest displayed by the district council in keeping the Budleigh beach outfall clear, putting at risk the future of a major aspect of the community's sport and recreation and causing huge distress to the farmers and residents affected by serious flooding problems.Having, it seems, alienated many sections of the Exmouth community, EDDC now appears intent on losing any goodwill in Budleigh, also.
