Letters are being sent out next week about the introduction of a recycling scheme, already under way in Exmouth, to the rest of East Devon.
Details are being sent to 51,000 homes about the initiative, which East Devon District Council is fully rolling out on June 12.
The council says that since the scheme, which includes cardboard being collected from the kerbside, was introduced in Exmouth, the recycling rate has increased by 15 per cent.
Most households will be given an additional 75-litre reusable sack for recycling.
A public information event is being held at Budleigh Salterton Library on Thursday, May 11, between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
