Stone the crows – the scores of scarecrows in this year’s East Budleigh scarecrow festival have been classed as being outstanding in their field.
A medley of model scarecrows, including St Francis of Assisi, which was voted best scarecrow, decorated the streets of the village to raise funds for the upkeep All Saints Church and its churchyard.
Scarecrow festival spokesman Stan Roberts the three-day event was a ‘roaring success’.
A host of scarecrows, in different disguises, and a plethora of other activities and attractions – including tours up the church tower, exhibitions, duck races and exhibitions - kept the crowd who flocked to the village entertained.
