East Budleigh may be only now starting to emerge from the restrictions and deprivations of lockdown - but that hasn't stopped creative people in the village producing some sensational scarecrows for the annual display.
Captured by photographer Peter Bowler and shared with Journal readers, this year's crop of straw-filled stalwarts are as colourful and humorous as ever.
Maybe the rigours of lockdown were a catalyst for creativity in 2021? Judge for yourselves, but as Peter's pictures show, East Budleigh certainly has more than its fair share of skilled and inventive residents.
The scarecrows took on sporting and historic roles. Some sat by the roadside, others looked out from garden borders. But all entertained visitors and residents alike.
