As we slowly emerge from lockdown the green shoots are starting to emerge in one East Devon town - literally!
The East Budleigh In Bloom team are now much more active and the fruits of their labours are there for all to see.
Helper Rosie Connor said: "Planted last summer in a central part of the village next to the community shop, our herb garden has matured well and is ready for all to use.
“We have just refreshed it with some new herbs for the summer including tarragon and the ever popular parsley. We gain more knowledge about the different herbs everyday with people swapping recipes on how to cook with them and medicinal use. With the lockdown easing and the weather improving the village will be very socially active and the herbs well used.”
EBiB has been supported by the village shop and the village hall with generous donations to help fund the project.
Rosie added: “The year 2020 was a very difficult one as we are all only too aware. The Covid-19 restrictions forced the cancellation of most of our planned events and with it the depletion of our funds, leaving our budget for planting very curtailed but this year we plan to increase our activities once more.”
On Sunday the 27th June 2021 East Budleigh in Bloom will be holding an open garden day in the village with a wide selection of gardens on view.
