A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a collision in Exmouth in which a woman was hospitalised.

Police say the incident happened on Imperial Road yesterday evening at 9.35pm, when a black and silver Mitsubishi L200 crashed into a wall of the Imperial Hotel.

There were two people in the car, a 41-year-old male driver from Exmouth and a female passenger in her late 20s.

An ambulance service spokesman said the woman was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with non-life changing injuries.

Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and possession of cannabis, and was released on police bail.
