An Exmouth beach has again received two awards for high standards.

Sandy Bay, owned by Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, has received a Blue Flag Award and Seaside Award from environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

The beach is one of only 15 in the South West to have received both awards, which it has received for several years running.

The Blue Flag recognises high standards for beach cleanliness, facilities and water quality, while the Seaside Award recognises beaches which are well managed and maintained.

Devon Cliffs operations manager Allen Main said the awards were thanks to the hard work of Devon Cliffs’ grounds team and activities team, and the support of the RNLI.

Keep Britain Tidy’s chief executive Allison Ogden-Newton said: “When you enjoy a day on the beach flying a Blue Flag or Seaside Award, you know you are on one of the safest, cleanest and very best in the country.”
