Firefighters have had to rescue a dog stuck on a bank in Topsham today (Sunday).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to Charles Play Park in Ferry Road at around 10.08am when a collie dog and its owner were stuck on a muddy bank while the tide was coming in.

One appliance and the Heavy Rescue Tender from Middlemoor were called to the incident, alongside the specialist rescue team from Exmouth.

The dog and its owner were rescued at around 10.38am.
