Discount dining on offer for rail passengers

Rail passengers are being given the chance to dine for less at pubs along the Exmouth to Exeter Avocet Line.

The Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership is running the scheme, which will see passengers getting 10 per cent off their food bill at selected pubs, when they show the rail ticket they used to get there.

Establishments taking part are The Oddfellows in Exmouth and Exeter, The Beacon Vaults in Exmouth, The Globe Inn in Lympstone, The Puffing Billy in Exton, and The Passage House Inn, Topsham.

The discounts will be running until the end of March, excluding February 13 and 14, and March 25 to 28.

Celia Minoughan, the partnership’s Avocet Line project officer, said “Passengers on the Avocet Line have a treat in store at these highly rated dining pubs.

“The discounts offer an excellent opportunity to try somewhere new or go back to an old favourite.”

The initiative is part of the promotional campaign being run for the line by the partnership, working closely with the Avocet Line Rail Users’ Group.

The discount applies to food only and does not apply to drinks orders.
