A LOVED-up couple from Brixington are to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary at Exmouth Pavilion - the place where they met more than six decades ago.

Vera, 87, and Reg Tanner, 85, met at a dancing event held at the popular seafront venue on in April, 1948.

The pair, who wed two years later, will raise a toast together this Saturday, April 17, to mark their special occasion.

The couple have one daughter, Barbara, who they adopted nearly 47 years ago.

They have two grandchildren, Luke and Kyra, as well as three great grandchildren, Daniel, Lucas and Connor.

Vera, who worked as a cook during the war for the land army girls, was brought up in Plymouth and Reg, in London.

Reg, after completing his conscription in the RAF, worked for the AA in East Devon.

"We are still very much in love after all these years," said Vera.
