Funding grants for a charity which delivers vital medical supplies, and an Exmouth playgroup, have been agreed by members of Exmouth Town Council.

At their most recent meeting, councillors agreed to make a £500 grant to Devon Freewheelers, as a contribution towards the cost of fuel for its motorbikes, which make out-of-hours deliveries of blood, samples, medication and donor breast milk to hospitals throughout Devon.

Councillors also agreed a £300 grant to Withycombe Raleigh Playgroup, for equipment including ICT remote control cars, rechargeable torches, Kiddizoom cameras and ‘mud kitchen’ supplies.

An application for £1,500 from the Exmouth and District Allotment Association, towards the replacement of raised timber beds for disabled gardeners, was deferred so councillors could ask for more information about the request.
