Exmouth residents are being invited to have a cuppa and get better at talking about death.

An East Devon Death Café event is being held at Bumble and Bee in the Manor Gardens on Tuesday, June 20, between 7pm and 9pm.

Organisers Gill Amos and Emma Kennedy say death café events aim to overcome the taboo of talking about death and allow people to explore their feelings about death and dying, while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and a cake.

They say there is no agenda, or anyone trying to direct discussion or sell anything, and that it is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.

The event is free to attend, but places need to be booked in advance.

To book, call Gill on 07855 117702, or Emma on 07974 330549, or email gill.amos@actioneastdevon.org.uk, or Emma.kennedy07@yahoo.co.uk.
