A broadcasting legend has given his backing to Exmouth community radio station Bay FM.

David Hamilton, a radio and TV broadcaster with a lengthy career at the BBC, recently brought his Rock ‘n’ Roll Back the Years show to the Exmouth Pavilion.

While in town, David was interviewed on Bay FM by station manager Andy Green, and subsequently accepted an invitation to pop into the studio for a cup of tea.

David said: “It’s a great station you’ve got here, very local and that’s what it’s all about, I’ve listened in and love it.”

Andy said: “It was great to see him - he’s a real radio legend.

“He was very impressed that the station sustains itself through advertising, but doesn’t profit from it.”
