A BUDLEIGH Salterton care home this week celebrated its golden jubilee in style with a party for its residents.The Shandford Residential Home held a sing-a-long, cake, toast and buffet tea to mark its milestone anniversary.Resident Daphne Mears was given the honour of cutting the celebration cake.The tables were decorated with golden flowers and candles, while gold-coloured balloons were hung around the home.The home celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Monday - exactly 50 years to the day of the opening of the home on November 17 1958. As part of its celebrations the home is holding a Christmas coffee morning at the Public Hall on Saturday November 29 between 10am and noon. There will be a variety of stalls and a raffle.
