An Exmouth musician has successfully cycled from London to Paris, raising money to buy new musical instruments for primary school pupils.

Martin John Nicholls completed the ride in four days.

He has raised £1,500 to buy new drums for the samba band he runs at the Beacon Primary School.

He said: “The support was amazing, and really helped to get me to the finish. Exmouth families were texting me and cheering me on from home.

“The new equipment will allow many more children to enjoy the thrill of making exciting, dynamic music.”
