Archant

It wasn't so much Black Friday as Purple Friday when volunteers turned out to plant crocuses in Exmouth for a charity project.

After rain thwarted previous planting, the Rotary clubs of Exmouth and District and Exmouth Raleigh, helped by East Devon District Council and Exmouth in Bloom, returned to a plot at the junction of Exeter Road and Marine Way to plant the crocuses for the Rotary International Purple4Polio campaign, marking efforts to end polio. Around 10,000 crocuses were planted. The next stage of the project will see further crocuses distributed to schools, the community and Rotary Club members.
