An Exmouth man has denied assaulting a woman.

William John Heath, of Senate Court, Exmouth, appeared before North and East Devon Magistrates sitting at Exeter on Monday (April 11).

Heath pleaded not guilty to the assault charge, alleged to have taken place on October 20 last year.

The 56-year-old also denied a charge of harassment of the same victim, alleged to have taken place between January 21 and September 22 last year.

He was bailed ahead of a case management hearing on May 16 on condition he does not contact the victim directly or indirectly.
