A WORLD class cricketer visited Exmouth Community College to take part in a coaching session with pupils.

Caroline Atkins, who was part of the England ladies cricket team which won the Ashes and World Cup, also took part in a question and answer talk with GCSE and BTEC students.

Mr Taylor, a cricket coach, said: “To have someone of Caroline’s calibre coach our students was fantastic.

“She made our students see that with hard work and dedication, you can play to the highest level in sport. The girls who were coached had a wonderful day which they will never forget.”

Caroline, who was also part of the team which won the World twenty twenty competition, holds the world record opening stand of 278 which she contributed 145 runs at Lords.
