After reading the letter headlined "Creating a first impression", I drove along Marine Way and I completely agree. I had never really paid much attention to it before but, after my attention had been drawn to it, I was appalled by the sight which greets holidaymakers when entering our town. If I went on holiday and was greeted by such a mess, I would most definitely not go back in a hurry. As a seaside town, the tourism industry plays a huge part in the success of Exmouth, so why not improve the appearance of the place? The majority of the town centre could do with a fresh coat of paint sooner rather than later before the holiday season gets under way at the start of next month.Mrs Bishop,(via email).
