CONCERNS that some advertising banners at The Pavilion do not have permission have led to a crackdown by district enforcers.
District enforcement officers have confirmed The Pavilion is not exempt from needing permission for banners.
Planning chairman Lynne Elson said: “We have been asking restaurants in Exmouth to apply for permission to put up banners only to find them twice the size at The Pavilion.”
But she said it was only large banners which were of concern: “We are certainly not saying to the operatic society or Centre Stage they should not advertise their productions. Our concern is the large banners on the roof above first floor level.”
