Couple inspired to create story-telling models

PUBLISHED: 06:30 10 July 2016

A couple from Littleham who narrate stories from the Bible by building mini models have unveiled their latest creation.

Ian and Suzanne King, both aged 56, of Capel Lane, began their Bible-themed calendar of creations in March, with the Easter story.

The pair’s latest craft project is on display at St Margaret and St Andrew’s Church, Littleham, and mirrors the church’s flower festival.

The latest display, called All Creation Sings, is made from plywood and acrylic sheets, and took Ian and Suzanne four weeks to finish.

Ian and Suzanne also plan to create stained glass paintings outside the church, illuminated by candles.

Ian said: “My wife and I were called by God to start a craft, but, because of the space problem, we started it in the church in Littleham.

“The display was inspired by reading the Bible.

“We started off with the Easter scenario and then we are following the year through.”
