COUNCILLORS at Woodbury Parish Council backed plans for an extension to the hours in which heavy goods vehicles can operate at Greendale Business Park.
Applicants F W S Carter and Sons want to alter a planning application condition to allow collection vehicles to leave the site from 6.30am in the morning.
At present, without prior written agreement of the waste planning authority, no vehicles are allowed to leave the site on a Sunday or bank holiday Monday or outside the hours of 7am and 6pm on weekdays.
In discussing the plans, initially, concern was raised over the noise of vehicles in relation to the distance they would be travelling from Woodbury and Woodbury Salterton villages.
Cllr Reg Brown, however, said: "There is not likely to be much traffic at that time of the morning so vehicles would be moving straight through."
The council had no objections to supporting the plans.
