EAST Devon District Council s building control service is celebrating success at achieving the prestigious Charter Mark award.
EAST Devon District Council's building control service is celebrating success at achieving the prestigious Charter Mark award.
This national award recognises excellence in customer service.
Awarded by the Cabinet Office, a Charter Mark recognises public sector excellence in service, flexibility, choice and value for money.
An independent assessor visited the team at Knowle, Sidmouth, and travelled to building sites, interviewing managers, staff and customers. The team showed marked improvement over three years.
Councillor Graham Liverton, whose portfolio includes building control, said: "Building control is the first service at EDDC to achieve both Charter Mark and Quality Assured status and I hope this demonstrates to the public the qualities that the council is striving for.
