College triumphs

TEAMS from 12 schools took to the stage to compete in the national Rotary Youth Speaks competition.Hosted by the Sid Valley Rotary Club, the event saw pupils speak for 10 minutes on a selected subject.A Rotary spokesman said: "The competition was divided into three sections - junior, intermediate and senior - and they all performed very well, covering an interesting range of topics."Exmouth Community College students' talk entitled 'Whose line is it anyway' came out on top in the senior section.The event was the eastern area final with the three winning teams going onto the Devon district final.
