ENTHUSIASTIC young walkers from Exmouth Community College are resting their feet after taking part in a gruelling two-day trek.

More than 18 students from the college, both pupils and staff, set off on walks across Dartmoor in Devon last weekend for the annual Ten Tors challenge.

Four hundred teams in total took part in 35, 45 and 55-mile routes.

A college spokesman said: "The students who took part did a brilliant job. All four teams we had who took part completed it successfully.

"It is something we do every year and is an event which is growing gradually as a key time in the calendar of our events."

A jubilee challenge was also held as part of the event for children with special needs.

The Ten Tors challenge, organised by the army, was formed 49 years ago. The event was abandoned two years ago because of severe weather.
