COLATON Raleigh is gearing up for its 2009 pantomime and rehearsals are already well underway.

The cast began rehearsing for Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates, directed by Chrissie Brimacombe, in September in preparation for the January 17-21 performances.

Tickets for the show went on sale this week and people are advised to book early because the village's panto is a popular event.

Colaton Raleigh Pantomime spokeswoman Lis McGill said: "We have got some old faces in the cast and some new people who have never performed before."

Tickets are £5, with concessions for children attending the Saturday matinee, from Mick and Teresa Bevan on (01395) 567072.
