THANKS to the support of the community of Colaton Raleigh, the churchyard looks likely to have regular grass trimming after a raft of successful fundraising.
The Colaton Raleigh churchyard fund now stands at almost 16,000 after more than four years of tireless fundraising by the community.
Thanks to the success of the fund, it is hoped by spring next year the church can pay for regular grass-cutting from the funds.
A spokesperson for the churchyard fund said: "The donations and the support we've had speak volumes for the wish of the village as a whole to have a tidy churchyard.
"We shall do all we can to ensure it stays tidy, hopefully for always.
""As prices rise, the fund will have to be added to. But at least we now have a good base to be going on with.
